Children’s Day - 20th November 2018

Children’s Day was celebrated at St.Xavier’s Boys’ Academy with a lot of excitement and joy on 20th November 2018 which coincided with the World Children’s Day celebrated by the U.N.

Our students came in at 10.00 a.m. and the teachers conducted a game ‘Human Housie’ in their classes and prizes were given to the winners. The students enjoyed the game as a positive attribute was given to each name called out. Each student was also given a stationery set, a fruit juice and a bar of chocolate. The programme in the beautifully decorated hall was at

11.15 a.m. and started with a meaningful prayer service which had scripture reading, petitions and a prayer dance followed by a short video for reflection. Then a group of teachers sang a song along with a video presentation of our ‘students in action’ to show them how wonderful they are. It is hoped that the musical skit that followed encourages our students to face their challenges with courage. After that the colour, song and dance parade showcased many cherished childhood attributes with the hope that our students live up to a happy colourful childhood and grow into fine adults who believe in themselves. Fr. Blaise D’Souza s.j. our manager dressed as ‘Chacha Nehru’ next addressed our students and reiterated all the good work done by Pandit Nehru for the betterment of the children of our country. The finale was the graceful yet energetic dancing by the teachers to popular songs that had the children singing along, followed by the vote of thanks by the Principal.
